The Energy Local Content Map
The Energy Local Content Map is owned and managed by the Mining Shared Value (MSV) programme of Engineers Without Borders Canada, with the support and funding from Ipieca.
Ipieca, the global oil and gas association for advancing environmental and social performance across the energy transition, was founded in 1974 at the request of the United Nations Environment Programme. For over 50 years, Ipieca has championed best practices and led the industry in integrating sustainability. The association facilitates climate action, environmental responsibility, and social performance across oil, gas, and renewable sectors. Through its non-lobbying and collaborative approach, Ipieca continues to be the principal engagement channel between the energy industry and the United Nations. Recently, Ipieca has funded the creation of the Energy Local Content Map, which provides easy-to-access, high-level information to help users understand local content-related policy contexts in different host countries, as well as information on relevant initiatives and organisations. The Energy Local Content Map was formerly called the Extractives-led Local Economic Diversification (ELLED) Map. The ELLED Map was developed with support from the World Bank’s Extractives Global Programmatic Support (EGPS) Multi-Donor Trust Fund. MSV and Ipieca appreciate the time, effort, and resources that both organisations provided to create this resource.
